I don't. I am only posting on here to show what is "expected" in tips and how ridiculous it is.

I have no clue how casino/dealer relationship works. I used to work at a restaurant for a little while, I remember that the waiters/waitresses were getting paid around $3/hr while the state minimum wage was around $7. I myself had a job where I was working on commission, no hourly although I was guaranteed minimum base pay which was equivalent to $4/hr. I've done some other stints such as delivery boy and valet that I was making no hourly, just tips. Just pointing out that even though there is a state minimum wage, not everyone gets paid that by their employers.
With that being said, everyone has the right to tip or not, and for how ever much they feel like.

My rule is 1% in cash games, and 1-0.1% in tournaments depending on how far I run.

Obviously if I cash $10,000,000... I'm not going to dump $100,000 in the tipjar. It's still $100,000. I'd still put in 10k though- because 10k is tons and now I can afford it.

Any dealer that doesn't like that (I used to be a dealer and I'm fine with it) can suck my succotash.

So this guy won a $1,111 satelite and $120 cash. $20 is fine. $120 is disgusting. I am never tipping 10% at a poker table.

And what kinda bull**** is this where people are just expecting you to drop 10% of your stack in a tips. Unless I'm getting some sucky sucky under the table, with a nice massage the entire time, free food and drink, and live entertainment- I would never do that.

Man it constantly amazes me how some of you tightwads complain about having to tip and then turn around and complain about the terrible quality of service you receive.

Uhhh, as a dealer I consistently made ~$10/h in tips. Rarely I'd have $8 an hour nights, and if you get to deal latenight poker (when they close the rest of the casino) you can pull in ~$30/h in tips alone. That's all tax-free.

I should be so lucky that every pot yielded a 1% tip. Anyone that asks for more is an entitled piece of ****. If someone is stuck 3k, I don't expect them to tip when they win a 1k pot- but they almost always do (and I would too).

The dealers that deal poker in places like Vegas where they keep their own tips... zomg, amazing. I dreampt of that when I was a dealer, because I was consistently getting tipped much more than other dealers. But I'm someone that likes to always do the best at their job, whether it's ditch digging or dealing.

There's so much entitlement when it comes to tips and it annoys me. You don't get a tip just for working in an industry- you have to earn it. Some corporations take advantage of this like restaurants and they underpay servers. Take it up with your government or your management- not with the consumer. It's nobody's fault that you accepted a job, but your own. If you're not good at it or you aren't making enough money- change jobs. They have a huge gap for blue collar labor right now, and under-water welders are making $120k a year. Don't want to work hard? Then enjoy your ****ty job and your ****ty tips.

Dealing is not a difficult job. It's one of the best jobs you can get. You're in air conditioning, usually sitting down for most of your shift, you get breaks every 45 minutes (or more- sometimes every 15). You get to clown around and joke with your clients, and you have a social job where essentially you're paid to be a machine. The job is what you make it.

And if you think you're entitled to $30 an hour tips just because you're a dealer, then you're a piece of ****.

If I was a dealer I would easily make 30 an hour in tips, despite the nits ITT!

I once saw a guy tip a dealer an online coupon. The coupon was for something dumb that the dealer would never use. I think this clown carried them around and gave them to dealers when he had a losing session. He was down about 5k.

I wanted to piss the guy off so I told the dealer id buy it off him. Threw him $100 chip. The dealer was very cool guy anyway so he deserved it.

The guy was livid and wanted to fight me.

I think its ridiculous that players feel guilted into giving their winnings as tips. It seems like a brilliant way for the casino to save some money. Its like going to the bank to deposit $1000 and the manager coming over saying "we dont pay our staff so the norm is for you to give them %10 of your deposit".
You wouldnt accept this in other everyday situations, why is it the norm at the table?

As an aside it is legal for a restaurant to pay a waiter less than the minimum wage because the waiter can make it up in tips. HOWEVER, if the waiter does not make min wage with pay+tips, then the restaurant is legally obliged to make their pay up till it reaches min wage.
