In a matter of 1200 hands, I have lost 300 bb to bad beat after bad beat. Best odds of villian was 5:1. Some 22:1. How many all in bad beats in a row do you take before you believe the universe hates you?

I know there is variance. But it is hard to take 6 or 7 all-in consecutive bad beats without going on tilt.

Feel for ya. In my last session, I whiffed AKs 3 times and it was donked and raised before the action got to me. Also, way overbet a 2-heart flop with a set of K's, got raised allin by a non-nut flush draw that hit two extra hearts. So, I know how you feel.

And it continues.

Sitting on suited AK, flop comes a 4 10 two spades. Idiot villian goes all in. I call to discover villian has j 8. He has 25% chance of winning. He makes a straight with 9 on turn and 7 on the river.

I can't beat lucky.

There's no way that someone with a 25% chance of winning the hand actually won.

I prefer it when the bad beats are spread out over multiple sessions. Sometimes though, they clump together. On the flip side, sometimes the hero sucks out after a bad read.

I haven't taken a bad beat since 2009.
