Back in the Golden Days Grandfather went to bed at 10:00 PM but he would stay up late and and wake up at 1:00 AM for doing his paper shredding, that was not uncommon.

Back in the Golden Days everyone would take take one o'clock showers. There were no proper bathrooms in Holland, so back in the 1960s everyone kept their bathroom doors closed in the showers in the hope of catching a chill.
