I think this is close between bet/folding and check/calling. I don't think there is a ton of value here because the button played this hand like he has a weak hand that he thinks can win at showdown but is unlikely to get a call from a worse hand. Most of those hands will presumably fold to a bet or check behind, depending on the action.
I think bet/fold is best, trying to get looked up by ace high or some lower pairs.
OP's description was
"Button is a TAG, seems good"
In my experience 4 handed, a TAG doesn't do as well 4 handed and one of the tendency is that they try to overbluff or bluff in spots they shouldn't be bluffing.
Anything that involves folding just seems subpar 4 handed.
You're probably right though that an actual TAG is too straight forward to bet when chked to on the river.

Button opens, I call in BB with J7o. He probably sees me as A TAG.
T65r...We both check
T65Kr....We both check
T65KJ....B/C? B/F? C/C?
What hands if any should the button have in his flop check back range?
Missed your question of what BTN should have in flop chk back range. On T65 rainbow when villain perceives HERO as TAG, I think the answer is none. If I had to assign a range in real time, maybe some very low pocket pairs (44-22), very weak Qx, very weak Jx, very weak suited or unsuited gappers. Not including Kx based on action on turn. Regardless, flop chk screams subpar TAG short handed waiting for main gsme.
Just the flop chk alone 4 handed in a HU pot BTN vs BB of not cbetting flop makes me perceive villain as subpar NIT TAG that is subpar short handed.
