Yeah I'd never fold this hand in the CO. I was just saying sometimes you have the nuts and have to play a pot with good players.

Interesting hand... my first thought was that I like the b/f on the river, but thinking more about it, his hand doesn't make sense...

The flop: He peels because your range is wide in the CO playing short so a Q/9 will prob be good or maybe he'll try to take the pot from you on the turn.

The turn is interesting because you check behind. This has to be a sign to DD that a) you've got showdown value, but your hand is not strong enough to value bet because you can't call a check raise, or b) you're just giving up on the hand (pretty unlikely on such a barren board). Really looks like a) here.

The river bricks again and DD realizes if he bets, you're going to look him up a large majority of the time because of your action on the turn. So he elects to check and give up. And then you surprisingly bet this brick, after not being able to value bet the turn... given how you played the turn, you should be bet/folding this river such a high % of the time, that a river c/r bluff is very profitable, and DD knows that. He realizes you can basically never have an ace or an 8 in this spot since you would've bet the turn, so you can't really call a c/r.

And the thing is, it's very easy to make a rash "omg wtf such a stupid river vb" fold emotionally as soon you get check/raised. The reason I think we should pay off here is basically: how the hell did DD check that river with an A, an 8, or even a 6? He would've missed value on two big streets, especially since he knows you have a hand that you want to showdown given your turn action. I know the pot is not big here - but I still pay off because his hand just doesn't make sense to me.

Looks fine to me. Like PJ said I don't think he can have Q or J high. I'm not as familiar with how DD plays as others but I know over the years when grunching threads I've agreed with most of his posts/reasoning; so either he plays way different or I'm laggier/better(?) than I think, hopefully the latter. I know sick bump.
