watching dave turn $20 into $5 playing keno will never get old

it's not my fault cafe bellagio is so terrible (with the one exception being the pretzel bread that you and bison kept hoarding)

I have yet to win in ten hours of the Oaks 15, despite 6 people seeing flops for two bets. Luckily I destroyed the 6/12 for 15bb/hr while waiting for a seat and crushed the Bay 3/6 at the same rate last week. Unstuck from Vegas!

It was fun meeting some of you guys at the 2+2 party. I really enjoyed playing the $4/$8 mixed game craziness!

it was an infomercial saying god will take care of your debt.

i cant believe this was actually an infomercial.

it had a website too.

http://www.peterpopoffministries.com///tv-us.php

"submit the form below to get your miracle spring water and debt cancellation kit"

I did spend a couple sleepless hours that night thinking about a couple of things I coulda done to impove my castle and guarantee a win. Oh well, what was I gonna do with a $2000 watch anyway? I do regret not getting the custom 2+2 undertitle though...

1st one was mindblowing, because nothing like it had ever been seen before. But when you come back to it years later, the seams and holes show. 2nd was pretty good -- Leigh Brackett wrote the script -- but the third was a hotchpotch.

My favorite part remains the opening of the battle sequence on Hoth in #2/#5, the guys in trenches in the ice waiting for an assault by superior forces. (Then the "superior forces" turn out to use tanks with such an egregious design flaw that one dude with a harpoon can take them out. Who'd the Empire buy those tanks from, the low bidder?)

Yup. And Han shot first.

Just f'n stop it.

When I got my new super TV the first thing I did was to get the "remastered original" to watch, and when I got to that scene and saw what the freakin tool Lucas had done to it, I almost vomited.

You could not be more wrongulent. ESB is by far the best of the three. Then SW, then RotJ.

This matches my recollection as well, though I wouldn't bet a substantial sum on it. [edit: and I should learn to notice I'm not on the last page before posting, so I can read other people explain that the episode IV was edited in later.]

this, even PJ who ridicules star wars geeks would agree that empire strikes back is by far the best.

fwiw i am a star wars geek.
07-06-2010 , 06:21 PM
Yes. ESB is the only good one of the entire series.

BTW I just remembered a moment from the 1/2 game. Guy in seat 4 (who is probably reading this) looks at me and goes "are you Heisenberg?" I said no.

Then stinkypete in the 3 seat goes "he's black on the internet." The guy goes "his screenname is black?" Pete: "No, he's black."

Guy appropriately ignored us for the rest of the game.

i'm not a SW geek and i don't think i have to be to know that ESB stands out. i think the whole myth, plot and legend of the SW universe is a really cool story, maybe even a really great story. and it's fun to have so many arcs tie together in 6 films. but i just don't think the movies are all that well done. RotJ being the most hokey and corny.
