Is it a good thing or a bad one when the party isn't rocking enough to bring out the single-malt?

I present to you the Mubsy Bogues Theorem of Live Mid-Stakes Limit Hold'em (MBToLMLHE)

When somebody cold calls your raise, then calls bets on the flop and turn, then on a HU river you check and they INSTANTLY bet, they are never bluffing.

I call with ace high and win a lot.

You know what really grinds my gears: double parked cars.

So many times a car is parked just across the parking line. If that driver wasn't so lazy and took 10 extra seconds to park properly, another car could fit. But no.

And do double parked cars ever get fined or towed? never.

Is the only solution to be a jerk and join them?

You must be playing higher than mid stakes, or online or they aren't INSTANTLY betting, MBToLMLHE is infallible.

Spoiler:
I call with A hi a lot and never win

Q high is the new A high. If you're OTR15, I think you just call T high and think nothing of it. If I were cool enough to pull that off, I'd just say "dude, face cards are hard to get".

Or park further out, walk in, and laugh a little inside at the people striving for useless parking edges. Release the attachment to other people doing things right and eliminate suffering?

eightfold path to parking enlightenment?

That ain't double-parking, that's just taking up two spots. And I don't think it's laziness so much as incompetence.

When I drive my beater, I park so close to them that they can't open their door.

combination of laziness and incompetence in my case. i'm just not good at parking i guess. to park perfectly between the lines i need to open my door and check and keep backing up and trying again multiple times (unless i run good). most of the time i'm too lazy to deal with that. if it's somewhere like Bay 101 where i know the lot will be full later, then i'll put in the extra effort. but most places the extra space being out of circulation isn't the end of the world, so **** it.

These people need to be CR a lot on the turn or river with your strong but non nut hands.

I'll be at the commerce for a few days if anyone wants to say, "hi" or get a drink. Eating dinner at my hotel now and will head over there in an hour or so.

Today at 20/40 I was up $1500 after a couple hours. A couple hours later I was even. A couple hours later I was down $1200. A couple hours later I was up $130 and called it a day. Those kinds of swings for me are normal. $500+ swings from hour-to-hour happen all the time.

Is this a bad sign or standard?

Standard

Spoiler:
But how much did you lose?

Depends on style. If TAG, you should feel less swingy since you're playing fewer hands/hour

That sounds like about half of my sessions over the last 6 months.

iTunes has a soundtracks section, and has lists of top soundtracks by decade. Their 1960s lists contains the sound track to

“Hot Rod” (2007, starring Andy Samberg)

“Top Gun” (1986, starring Tom Cruise)

But not

"2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968, starring Stanley Kubrick)
01-13-2015 , 06:11 PM
And to head off Jon.Locke at the pass.

First, "Top Gun" wasn’t produced/released in the 60s.

Second, no matter how good the Top Gun Soundtrack was, in any era it, like all other music man has ever recorded, is a distant 2nd best to the soundtrack for "2001: A Space Odyssey".

And I'm not talking about Alex North's commissioned score that's still sold on iTunes but was never used in the film. I'm talking about the original soundtrack that was sold in abbreviated form upon release, and later updated with the full material, including the edited version of Ligeti's Aventures that was so chilling in the film.

And enough of the Top Gun love.

I admit at the core of both films is the question of what happens when man meets alien intelligence, but only one led to Tom Cruise becoming our hand picked emissary, and that's it's fatal flaw.
