If a poker book author gives advice based on how many players are already in the pot, do they mean INCLUDING the blinds (forced bets), or just all the other players (voluntary bets.)

i.e. - Small Stakes Hold 'Em, Winning Big With Expert Play, page 66.
"When there are already three or more players in the pot, call the raise."

The same could be asked with regard to the definition of things like "short-handed." (Four or fewer "players"). I presume that includes the blinds, since they are players until they fold, whether they wanted to be or not.

What is the term used to mean the opposite of "short-handed?" Long-handed is not in the glossary.

Guessing that this is not counting blinds, because the initial raiser + the blinds would make every pot 3 handed at a minimum. These are discussing loose/limped pots from your context. If you can find a game this good, you've already won. A mid-stakes game with 2 limpers and a raise, enjoy.
