So I'm in this training class at work where they're teaching us how to use a new product we have.

As part of the training class, you have to do some exercises to reinforce what you're learning. Halfway through the exercise, a bunch of people are stuck on step 3.

Guy next to me (GNTM): Hey, I can't login to the computer anymore.
Me: What'd you set the password to?

GNTM: I didn't change the password.
Me: Huh? As part of the exercise, you have to set a new password. (I scroll back a little bit and show him). See, that was in step 2.

GNTM: Oh OK. What's the password?
Me: Well, you're supposed to set it to "Xyz". Did you set it to xyz?

GNTM: I dunno. (He tries Xyz). I think so, but that doesn't work.
Me: Did you use a capital X?

GNTM. Yes. See? It doesn't work.
Me: That's weird, I don't know then.

(15 minutes later)

GNTM: I figured out what was wrong.
Me: What?

GNTM: I had the caps lock on.

The sad thing is, like literally 25% of the class (4 out of 16 people) had the exact same problem -- their caps lock was on when they were entering the password and they couldn't figure out why they couldn't login.

The bay area is clearly not very tech savvy?

luckily, he wasn't promted to press any key to continue. Otherwise he would be looking for the "any" key on the keyboard.

To be fair, the smoke breaks aren't random; they are timed to coincide with the hourly setup changes.

I'm not sure where you are talking about, but that sounds just like Commerce.

No, now that they take $5 from you if you miss two big blinds, there are WAY fewer tables out of action. But yes, it sounds like Commerce about 2 years ago.

For the record I've managed to stay below 170 since that bet, but boy was it tough.

Yeah, except this is the only consistent game above 8/16 in the state.

One of the best 20 games in a long while has broken out. Just saw a guy power limp the button with T3s and flop a flush against the blinds and get exactly 1 small bet post flop.

did the action go: one of blinds donks, btn smooth calls, blind checks, button makes expert checkback, blind checks again, button bets, blind folds, button angrily shows his flush?

Not exactly. Flop comes J97 all clubs. SB bets BB folds button calls. Turn is a small club. SB check folds and button laments that it didn't come 8c for a straight flush.

The attempted 15/30 failed miserably. If a game goes, it's 20/40.

All 15/30 games die. The only exceptions I can think of are rooms that run 6/12 and or 30/60 as their bread and butter or keystone.

Is there a certain reason for this?
Slightly too big for 8/16 guys and too small for 20 players?
Or just not a big enough spread between limits?

You've talked so highly of it I probably should, but headed back to watch Big Ben come back and send Norv off with a slaughter.

I renamed my fantasy football team Fire Norv Turner. Maybe I'll get an early Christmas present.
