Typical LA mid-stake game [8 players]

Players::

UTG+1 - tight/passive probably never gets out of line.
MP+3 - tight/solid probably a decent winner, seems kinda passive in some spots.
BB - typical azn player

Preflop::
UTG[Hero] 2-bet KQ

UTG+1 Calls
MP+3 Calls
BB Calls

Flop::
A 9 9

BB checks
Hero bets...

Now in this spot i usually bet. I figure UTG and MP play pretty fit or fold and will be folding high cards some smaller pocket pairs and will give me a better read on what they have. I was a little confused on what hand MP could possible have since he didnt 3-bet/fold. This situation comes up quite a bit and im curious what you guys usually do here? Comments?

dont like betting this board into 3 players oop.

vs. one or two, I would auto-bet.

I think you have a real problem here. Heads up and vs two, you probably wouldnt have worried about going ahead and betting. Three players called your two bets preflop. One of them could have an Ace. If you get called, are you done with the hand? BB is "typical azn". Many "typical azns" will c/r you from bb to see what you do. Do you credit him with an ace, a 9 or a bluff? Will you fold? Your bet has to typically take the pot down right there and then, or else your chances of winning by betting again and again become exponentially thinner and thinner.

I've got you folding a tight passive (range 77-10s, A9s-A8s, KTs, QTs-JTs, AQo-ATo) 46% of the time on this flop. Assuming the bb doesn't bluff, you are folding him (range 22-99, any suited, all non King/Queen Aces, any Broadway, unsuited connecters) 71% of the time. Therefore, your bet will take the flop (0.46 * 0.46 * 0.71) = 14.7% of the time. This is pretty thin. If BB bluffs even a small percentage of time here you are in trouble.

As played, check behind turn after you are called on the flop. When BB leads the river, pound the table, stand up, take your king and fling it as hard as you can into the dealer's chest screaming "F'ing DEALER, EVERYTIME I HAVE POCKET KINGS YOU PUT A F'ING ACE ON THE FLOP"....spend the next 30 minutes telling everyone around you "HE KILL ME EVERYTIME". This way you can change your docile, bluffing image and fit in more.

There is a hair enough time you might still have the best hand. This is very thing vs 3 but I think this is one of the times to place one, yes.

Timogen, I believe your strategy, while well put, would be greatly improved if the OP then (and this is sound advice for LA mid-stakes absolutely regardless of race) followed up by refusing to take his next blind, sitting angrily still, and stating loudly to nobody in particular that he wants to know when the next dealer shift change is going to be as he will not be playing one more damn hand until that time. Then call for a new deck.

3 is almost always too many to bet into. However the flop is kinda special, and you're not gonna get bluff raised (according to your reads). The cold calling nature of MP makes me think he has no A. The paired 9 most likely hit no one. A bet might work. Even though I still usually don't make it, I don't think it's too bad here. Probably one of those plays that just increase your variance though. Let's say you get one caller, then a K comes on the turn. The hand gets messy.

Thanks for the replies. The thing is that i didn't get called by BB, MP+3 called me who was 2+2 and a friend of Joes. He just calls me on the flop and everyone else folds... Turn now brings a low

Check-call is the only play now.

Always fire the flop and never fire the turn, unless the caller is an auto-peeler.

Is this a question? Check/call, standard.
