Depends on the spot, obviously.
here's a spot where I donk-checked AKs after capping pre
The reasons for doing so are
1) After that flop, that multiway, I likely do not have the best hand
2) I have no fold equity (as in, people aren't folding pairs to a barrel in a bloated pot).
3) I have two overs, a BDFD, and a BDGSSD that give me plenty of equity to come along.
Change this situation to a HJ open vs BB defend, on the same board. Now what?
Well betting AK is obviously part of a greater strategy of betting your entire HJ opening range here. You do it because there's plenty of worse hands that can call you, and your equity usually isn't too bad when behind. Moreover, there's few hands in your range that neither have value to target, nor folds to target, so betting 100% is one of those strategies that is pretty close to correct (correct enough for us simple minded humans).
