turn decision vs. this kind of (tricky lag) opponent turn decision vs. this kind of (tricky lag) opponent

alright well this hand bothered me...
villain is extremely loose, aggressive, and tricky... capable of all sorts of bluffs, loves to c-raise on anything (top pair, mid pair, semi bluff, air if he thinks you're weak, etc.)...also is pretty showdown bound, i guess because he bluffs so much, he doesn't respect turn raises and will still showdown ace high, bottom pair ,etc. almost all of the time

6 handed, 10-20
2 fold
hero is in the CO with AJ , hero raises
button folds
sb folds
bb calls

flop: J57
bb checks, hero bets, bb raises, hero-3bets, bb caps.
turn: J572
bb checks. hero bets, bb raises, hero calls.
river: J57210
bb checks, hero checks

basically, i know he's capable of capping the flop with crappy 5 or 7, or some other hand that's worse than mine and isn't the flush - i also feel he would've kept the betting lead with the flush card turn, not wanting to risk me checking behind (which i do often vs. him). so since I figured to have the best hand and wouldn't be able to get another value bet in if the river was another spade or something (since i don't have one) I decided to bet - i also wanted to charge him if he was drawing to a 4 card flush. his turn c-raise is fishy as hell, and as much as i think i'm still ahead, i guess 3-bet is horrible spew. anyway, comments on all streets welcome

Weird action and a bad turn/river for your hand. It seems like he played this hand this way strictly to mess around with you.

I would have played it the same way as you (including betting to make a 4 flush pay).

To me it feels like he turned two-pair or is hiding his QQ/KK/AA pretty well.

well, let me post the results because villain had the exact kind of hand i expected him to have - and i'd like to know, against this specific kind of opponent, given this information, whether a turn 3-bet would've been okay. i just feel like whenever i have these sort of hands where i know i'm ahead in equity, if it's possible to further punish these villains who check-raise the turn on this sort of stupid semibluff...without it being spew. obviously against a regular TAG 3-betting would be spew, but what about against a moron like this?

villain had 5 6

you played it well, 3betting would be pretty bad there, unless he was on absolute monkey tilt or something. You don't need to worry so much about charging his draw the max when he's already put in 4 small bets on the flop and 2 on the turn. He's getting charged pretty sufficiently, the biggest obstacle in your way is not tilting when he gets there.
