2nd Orbit. BTN is unknown to me. I feel the flop c-bet is standard, but lately at 15/30 it seems like my c-bets and semi-bluffs are all getting looked up and amounting to spew...

since he checked the turn he's not very likely to have a K/J, so i guess its best to just c/c and pick some value of the missed draws. sometimes he has an underpair, but i dont know if he bets that too often when he checks the turn

Really super standard river c/c imo.

Flop bet is standard. I cant ever see checking this flop 3 handed... then we get into balancing etc etc

I assume you are asking if you have a thin river valuebet then?

I doubt anyone plays A9 or something like this and if hes prepared to call the riv with Qx, i think hed bet the turn with it, so no. Just check and hope dude desperation bets Q10 on the riv.

OK, you answered both of my concerns, thanks. Flop bet standard, c/c river very standard. That's how I played it. Villain showed AJo.

villain is dumb ... hand standard from hero's perspective

yeah I hate this spot cause I feel like a lot of people dont even bother firing with the missed draws but will vbet their 99 crap, but then again anyone who plays like that generally sucks so rock on you have to c/c.

Villain is a moron and saved you $30 by not betting the turn
11-21-2008 , 08:27 PM
Yep...moron villain.

If I were to reveal the identity of the villain, I would type a few letter "v"s and a few number "2"s, but I'm not gonna do that...

I have no idea who villain is but when people do this in my midstakes games its much much more likely they have marginal SD value than a draw.

I'd usually cf river. A block bet might be better tho.

Maybe I'm just weak, but I'd have check-called the flop and folded if I failed to improve on the turn. You may have had him preflop* but he has you on the flop and it's imperative you shift gears or you will continue to get looked up for stacks and stacks at 15/30.

Additionally, this would give you respect for future c-bets when you actually hit something on the flop (bonus if you improve to two-pair on turn, etc).

*Lo and behold, he had you preflop, too. All the more reason to give my idea some consideration.
