HU LHE/NL mix challenge HU LHE/NL mix challenge

03-29-2008 , 02:19 PM
Not sure if this is best play to post this, but there was a thread in NVG recently about whether a high stakes limit or NL specialist would have an edge if the 2 players played both games. I'm curious to try it out. Heads up poker is my favorite kind but it's very hard to get action at HU NL regularly, so my proposal is playing someone at NL and LHE simultaneously on 1 table each, either at 1/200 NL and 500/1k LHE or 2/400 NL and 1k/2k LHE. I don't want any kind of hands requirement or anything but I think this is a fair deal. If anyone wants to take me up on this just post here or PM.

Brian

edit - 1 other thing, I probably won't play long if you just nit it up a ton in NL, but if you're playing reasonably then fine. I'm not too concerned about it but if it resembles playing ADZ124 at HU NL I'm probably not playing long.

I've got no comment on this except that you might have more success posting this in the High Stakes limit forums as most of the nosebleed players read/post there.

well I mean part of my motive is being able to play enjoyable HU games, I'm not gonna be really strict about enforcing that but if the NL game is very boring it won't be worth my while to play. And it's not like there's any penalty, I'll just stop giving action if I feel like it. So feel free to nit it up for an hour or so

when i read this this is exactly what came through my mind.

or more like "ill play you as long as you allow me to maximize MY expectation in my best game" or something along those lines.

id for sure do this at something like 50/100, 10/20 nl if someone wanted to.

ya i suppose that makes sense. forgot how public this community is, tho im pretty sure this forum is one of the least trafficked nowadays. hopefully someone gets ahold of hoss_tbf so this can be epic.

still, i think u dont realize how few ppl play that high. like 10 or so would be my estimate.

anyway, ill take this opportunity to hijack and say ill glady challenge a msnl player at 30/60 and 5/10nl. who wants it?

Like I said people can play however they want, I'll just quit if I don't think the match is enjoyable. I'm not going to tell ppl to play looser in chat or anything lol. So really if someone like Bryce wants to try it out and just nit it up for a bit that's fine, I just might choose to not play anymore after a while.

I only left a fraction of my old bankroll online, but if you want to play some 50/100 LHE and 10/20 NL some time I'd be up for a bit of that.

Stinger, if you really think about this (stakes and scenarios) and work on your live game, this would be a perfect idea for the wsop months. I actually think you should take on all comers right now as practice for the wsop months and not worry about time lengths etc...

Maybe this is off topic, but everytime I see your post or name it reminds me of how I <3 hearing you yawn numerous times during a video of 1k/2k lmit holdem with david benyamine.

ScHninbL0r will prolly take you up on this and you can likely get better terms from him, I'll give you action but not this high.

I did this live 8/16nl (I had to buy in for $1600, and he demanded I reload if I fell below 1200) and 50/100.

We played 1hr rotation. I had a big edge, but he got better at lhe as the game went on.

He is a winning 25/50hunl player at FTP and I play 10/20-50/100

Bryce vs. Stinger would be awesome. By the way Bryce i saw you at the UofA today (in sub) but was too intimidated by your $3mill graph to say hi haha.

I never thought I'd see "Bryce" and "nit it up" in the same sentence.

please revive this! what is your fold to flop/turn bet in fl hu stinger?
06-26-2008 , 08:22 PM
i would think i have at least a 4BB/100 edge on you HU LHE, but i have no idea what sort of edge you have on me in NLHE. probably too high for me to even consider this offer.
