Sunpoker move to Ipoker Sunpoker move to Ipoker

11-18-2008 , 11:32 AM
i just had an e-mail from the affiliate side for Sunpoker confirming that they will begin the move from Crypto to Ipoker in mid December and expect the move to be complete at the end of January.

I had an old Sun account from years ago that paid 35% rakeback so it will be interesting to see how any new loyalty scheme will compare. I suspect it will be very similar.

And where will this leave Crypto?

One network to rule them all.

Well I think it makes sense if many of the small unattractive rooms merge to a bigger one.
I do not need many different accounts anymore and got my fish delivered home and fresh.

I think this was planned before the Crypto/Boss merger was even thought about. This isn't the kind of thing that can happen quickly.

Will they under Ipoker when Will Hill, Poker Plex, Sun are
moving there? You know you only can play at one Ipoker
site at a time?

Hey Guys,

This is a decision that we have thought long and hard about. We have been with Crypto for a long time and this was actually a really tough decision we came to.

We felt it was time for a change. Our biggest complaint at SunPoker was liquidity. So we have solved this by moving to iPoker. Even if we had stayed with crypto when they move to boss, and we honestly wish them the best of luck, I know the new CEO of Crypto has some great ideas and some big changes planned, iPoker will still have around 3-4000 more players online.

The biggest question has been about rakeback on iPoker. iPoker doesn't allow rakeback, which might scare off some people, but hear me out. iPoker offers Loyalty programs, which we are doing our best to come up with the best possible loyalty program for our players. This will include being able to cash in your SunPoker Points on iPoker for cash and tournament buy ins, as well as offer better promotions, bigger prize pools and tournaments and more free rolls etc.

Someone mentioned Crypto not having any fish, and this is something I agree with. By moving to iPoker, we are essentially fixing that problem as well.

I don't have all the answers right now, but please ask away. As a poker player myself, I know this is the right move for us and for our players.

I appreciate the feedback and your time,
Greg Harrison

Well, here is a strange question then.

Those of us with several thousand points, do we keep them unused for the change over, or do we use them up?

I have been burning through them as fast as possible assuming that points earned for the account matters more then outstanding balance of points, but it would be nice to get some clarification on this.

Also, will "grandfathered" players receive anything different from new ones at ipoker?

Thanks in advance.

I can't give an exact answer to this, but we are planning on a promotion on iPoker that uses people's MPPs value in a promotion.

Also we will have a lot of incentives to move over to iPoker which we will be releasing in due time.

Its a good question and I will have the answers for you in an official press release/email etc when everything is 100% confirmed and all our ducks are in a row.

Thanks,
Greg

Does this mean their outstanding unused point balance, or total points earned?

I want to know if I should keep playing in the 1000 MPP Fearsome Foursome tourneys

You should definitely keep playing! It will be based on life time generated MPPs. So collect and spend all you like

Saying that ipoker don't allow rakeback is a bit of a bluff that'll save you a fortune.

Of course you're right that they don't let you give RB to new customers, but they've always been very fair about letting sites that are new to their network honour their agreements with existing players.

If we can't be grandfathered for RB with you, it's because of your business decision, not an ipoker rule.

I don't know if you remember me from the pm's but I congratulate you on making the move.

You really didn't want to be stuck moving to boss and moving to ipoker will give you more flexibilty in choice of games and rewards programs.

I am not overly upset about the rb (hey if you want that everyone knows you can find it on the ipoker network without too much trouble) being taken away so long as you replace that by an awesome rewards system.

If you aim to have the best rewards system on ipoker and achieve then your system will be pretty awesome

Best of luck and hopefully once you move I will be able to come back and play at sunpoker.

Thanks for the encouragement!

We really do look forward to this move and think its for the best for our players and for us.

As for honouring GF players, We have to stick to the iPoker rules, it may have been different in the past, but we have not been given that option as far as I am aware. I think our Loyalty program will out weigh rake back any day in the long run anyways.

is it safe to assume sun will offer the same same as poker plex.

crypto rooms arent exactly bringing a whole lot of value to ipoker.

Sun poker and William Hill poker are both moving to iPoker in January, this should bump up the traffic a bunch hey ?

Any other sites planning on moving to iPoker in the near future ?

How many people do you think this will add to the iPoker network ?

I doubt it will change much at all. I don't think you will notice a difference at pokerscout.

Some players will just move if they like the new deals better.
