I am thinking of starting to play at pokerstars, but what bothers me is the fact that there is no rakeback there. Does pokerstars have anything to offer as some kind of a bonus that measures up to the value of rakeback on other sites?

Instead of rakeback they have their fpp system which is not that bad. Especially when you´re Goldstar+ and collect them with a higher rate.

For example when I played at Poker Stars as Platinum Star I always bought t-shirts and caps for my fpp and sold them on ebay. The money I made with that pretty much equalled a good rakeback deal. I got like 30%-50% of my rake back that way (e.g. selling a 600fpp cap for 15€ which is 21$). Not everything in the shop has that much value, but the simple shirts and caps have if you can sell them for a good price in your country.

On top of that you have the VIP freerolls which have good value too.
