FTP Finally gets my account RakeBack then takes it away.. kinda - details within.. FTP Finally gets my account RakeBack then takes it away.. kinda - details within..

I am posting this situation here so that perhaps ftpdoug or sean can help me out with this problem..

I opened my FTP account shortly after their launch (late 2004 maybe early 2005) and at that time knew nothing of rakeback.

In october of 2005 after having a player account for several months I applied to be an affiliate and had an affiliate account setup.

I started emailing FTP in late 2006 complaining about the rakeback situation and what I could do do get it.. Finally in 2007 I stopped emailing support and sent a letter to the affiliate department as I had referred several players over the years and though they would be more helpful, They were! I got a response from "Kevin" saying that he could not attach my account to a RB providor however he would add my player account to my affiliate account - making me my own RB providor and I would get a 20% kickback from my own play - It's not the 27% that everyone gets but at least its something.. and I was happy to get it..

A few months ago around Nov 2010 I get a letter from my affiliate manager to the effect of "We have discovered that you have linked your player account to your affiliate account and this is in direct violation of the affiliate TOS, we have un-linked your accounts do not do this again or you will burn in hell ect ect..

Now, Its upsetting enough that this was THEIR solution to my problem - even more aggravating is the fact that if you use any common sense you will see its impossible for me to link a player account to my affiliate account when the player account was created BEFORE the affiliate account..

So - I told my affiliate manager the whole story of how this came about, I told her that it's un-acceptable that they take away what THEY gave me.. She worked on this for 2 weeks and came back to me with a solution.. they had a new program called "Cash back" and FTP would be giving me cash each week equal to 27% of my rake.. very happy again!

I get the notice that I'm setup and I need to reach 10k points a month to maintain it.. not happy again!! what If I take off 3 weeks for vacation or a family emergency?? which is exactly what happened - and when I did not hit 10k points my cash back is done.. WTF?? I want a permanent solution at last!

So here I am - no rakeback, no cash back.. just continuing to feed money into FTP and get nothing back..

Thats the story -

cliffs:
OP signed up long before rakeback.
FTP eventually let OP be his own affiliate to get his own rakeback.
FTP took it away.
OP got on the cash back plan.
OP had a family emergency and couldn't maintain the cash back requirements.
(no email proof of any of these claims)

What they're offering you now is pretty standard for players they won't give rakeback to.

Fulltilt cashback

Although that's usually only done when a player can't get rakeback due to being associated with an affiliate. Were there even FT affiliates back when you signed up?

I'm sure there were affiliates back when I signed up, however not ones that offered RB.

My account was not linked to any affiliate.. And they are not offering me anything.. what's most frustrating is that they did something back in 2007 to make it right, then 2010 they take it away and I get a harsh email to boot..

I dont have the emails from 2007 when my player account was linked to my affiliate account.. I'm pretty sure I have the most recent emails from my affiliate manager however FTP does not dispute anything I'm claiming so unless that becomes an issue I have no reason to post emails..

Whats most annoying is the fact that if someone at FTP looked into this they would clearly see that my player account was linked to my affiliate account and my player account was created first.. the dates of events clear this whole thing up.. as an affiliate you cannot just tag any player account you want after said account was opened..

If your account isnt linked to an affiliate you should be eligible for rakeback through http://www.rakebackpros.com they retagged my old account from a very similar situation to yours

Recieved a response from Rake Back Pros:

Quote:
We have reviewed your account details and regret to inform you that we will not be able to offer rakeback for your existing Full Tilt Poker account.

We have checked with Full Tilt Poker and your account is regrettably already attached to another affiliate and you are therefore not eligible to receive rakeback from us.

Unfortunately, we do not have any information about your current affiliate.
How the the hell can my account be linked to an affiliate when I was my own affiliate for ~2 years..

Why was this thread moved to this board? I feel this is more of a service issue with FTP but I guess the mods dont agree..

Maybe the cash back program your affiliate manager placed you on is triggering the tag

Id contact your affiliate manager again and try and get removed from the cash back or seek her assistance in becoming "untagged" so rakeback pros can hook you up

I was tagged to my own affiliate acct for 2 years and had no problem with that even though it was ~20% not 27% It was better than nothing..
