FTP Iron man opt in problem FTP Iron man opt in problem

I opted into ironman last month, I chose bonus medals over a freeroll (I assume you needed to do this to opt in).

Anyway I qualified for silver iron man last month, this morning I log onto full tilt and go to my ironman page and i'm presented with the page asking me If I'd like to opt in for Iron man freerolls or bonus medals. I got no ironman points for last month, and didn't gt my silver status at all.

I specifically checked yesterday that I was opted in as it was the last day of the month, and my ironman page showed I had selected bonus medals over a freeroll.

What's happened? I've heard of people having lots of problems with fulltilt randomly opting people out of their promotions. I've emailed them about this but it will probably take them forever to get back to me. Am I likely to get any satisfaction?

idk, but I know I it annoys the sh*t out of me when I keep having to tell it what I want as far as freeroll or bonus medals. I had to do it three times just this morning.

Sounds like your problem could easily be fixed though since all they have to do is check your account and play history, etc.

I was in exactly the same situation and was quite concerned, but I learned on here last night that this is pretty standard and I would get my medals sometime today. I look now, and sure enough, I have 140 medals for making Gold last month. Still shows me as "Not Qualified" rather than "Gold", but I assume they just show you the current month's status there.

As for the stupid opt-in screen that keeps showing up, I just choose "Close" each time and my status doesn't change. I still look every time I do it though, as I'm paranoid I'll get opted out one of these times. Ridiculous system.

I posted about this in FTPDoug's latest update thread. I think we should all keep posting about how annoying it is that the pop up keeps appearing. Maybe one of these times they'll make it a priority to fix the darn thing.

I was a bit worried also but I just got my medals now too, so this is probably standard then.

Give the system 24 hours to add your medals then e-mail support.

They'll always credit your status if the system opts you out.

Is there anywhere a person can see how many consecutive months they've had Iron Man Status? Of course you can scroll back through the months, but that's a painful way of doing it.

It should tell you what month you are in Ironman on the right hand side of the Ironman page. So if this is your second month, it will say something like, this is your 2nd month of participating in Ironman (or other wording).

I have a box on my page called "Your current Iron Man Level" that has status, points, consecutive months, etc.

It's under my calendar, but my page setup is screwy (I'm using Chrome with big fonts)

Your opt-in problem is only the start of it. When they ran their recent Mid Year Bonus promotion they also lost (due to a technical hiccup) some players opt-in details. And in this case they have not made good. I, as well as others (based on some threads made here), have not had our MYBs paid despite opting in and qualifying for the bonus during June. And yes, I also got that endless opt-in screen popping up.

I have stopped playing at FT as a result of this as I no longer think they are trustworthy.

Bobo, I don't know how to tell except for scrolling back. Fwiw, after like 4 months after an iron man bonus period ends, a new one will show up and you can see how many months you made at each level (but it only goes for the last period, so like 6 months).

+1 to that buggy message asking you to optin, people will get paranoid about this and possibly screwed.

OK, that's what I have as well. Not a big deal; I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. But that makes this odd:

So do some of us have different pages? I want this one ^^^

Here's what mine looks like:

Nothing about my Gold status last month that I can see.
09-01-2009 , 10:29 PM
Yea bobo, my page has looked like that for as long as I can remember. xxx is using chrome and fwiw, I'm using firefox, but I can't imagine why it would be different.
09-01-2009 , 10:50 PM
Mine used to look like that, but changed a few months ago to include consecutive months.

Oh wait, I'm an idiot and misunderstood what Bobo as I thought he meant how he could see how many months he each made iron, gold, silver, etc, and not the streak.

The page shows your consecutive months streak after you've been in the challenge, well, for more than 1 month I would guess.

Here's my screenshot:

Sorry about misreading your post Bobo.

Oh, cool, that's what I was hoping for. Yeah, I guess they don't bother showing me my streak of...1.

No worries suigin, we got there in the end.

Thanks a lot guys. Not many sites I'm such a n00b on, but FT is one.

Just thought of another stupid question. From what I read, I understood it that any qualification level should count in the streak, as long as you don't go down levels. For example, I was Gold last month, and plan to be Iron this month; I'm assuming that will count as month 2, not 1. Is that correct?

It's worded strangely on the webpage. ANY level counts to extend your streak, no matter what you were the previous month.

Yeah, as long as you make some level, your streak continues. I've gone from bronze to gold and then back down to bronze.

If that's the case, then it sure is poorly worded:

Play More to Win More

In future months, you can earn additional medals in two ways:
  • Maintain your current Iron Man Challenge level for consecutive months
  • Move from one level to a higher one in consecutive months

Well, good to hear this from two people. The plan is to stay at Iron anyway, but it's nice to know you can move down and not lose that streak without buying a Continuing Month.

Yeah, it's nice to be able to put volume in when you can and not get penalized later because you've played less.

Hhhmm, in one of the answers threads, FT said they would consider changing the continuing month. AFAIK, you can only purchase it the month AFTER you lose your streak, is this still in place? I tried to check now, but it said I purchased the maximum of two consecutive continuing months, which is false since I haven't even used one yet, so I'll chalk it up to another glitch on their part.

I don't get the reasoning on why this is the case since I think this would confuse the casual player about why he can't buy it during the month he is taking off. Whatever, I'm nitty.

+1 to that stuff being worded poorly. No surprise so many people ask that question about going down in levels and still maintaining the streak, bad job by FT.
