I have had quite a saga trying to get an external monitor working with my 2.5 year old Dell Latitiude, which finally ended in me having to send it in to get a new motherboard. Now the VGA output works but I have one problem. Every time I watch a video the secondary monitor shows the video in full screen, I can't mouse over it or close it. It does this in Windows Media Player, itunes, and VLC Media Player.

There most be a setting to turn this off right?

I have a second problem on the external. Sometimes when I move my mouse from left to right the whole screen moves left to right, as well as the mouse pointer. So when I move the mouse to the right the screen moves left, and vice versa.

WTF is that?
