Been playing for 4-5 years already. I bought a new computer and am trying to install HEM for my new desktop and it uses windows 7. I am having a tough time. The last 2 times i installed HEM with my windows xp, i did it easily when i watched this 28 minute video from Holdem manager training but that was compatible with xp and vista.

I installed HEM fine with the serial key on my new computer. However, when i click on click here to add auto import, i only see the pokerstars folder and not the full tilt. I am also watching this video called the HEM install that is 5 minutes 35 seconds that shows how to install it and get confused with the pokerstars. Because for pokerstars, it shows C/Users/local etc and the video saids its a hidden file and you need to unhide it. The next step goes to click VIEW AND FOLDER OPTIONS. I am brand new to windows 7 but where is this click view?? I see that to get to there you need to go to my computer, c drive program files, full tilt poker and then hand history. However, when i click on full tilt poker, I don't see hand history nor i see it when i click on pokerstars.

Also, is there a reason why it does not detect full tilt poker on my computer when i click auto detect?

Can someone please help me with this installation? I have not played at all yesterday nor today because i don't know how to configure it.

I also see Fozzy mention

Under Windows 7 you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe to be started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executable's and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

Can you please explain Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executable's and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. I have no clue what is meant by this. Do you mean internet explorer?

I bought a new dell desktop that uses windows 7. It has 4GB memory, i5-750 processor and 500GB hard drive. However, i am having a lot of trouble installing HEM in my computer because windows 7 is completely new to me. I also don't like how 7 looks and how it works compared to xp because i am so used to XP.

Also, installing HEM in XP was a breeze and doing this on windows 7 is really a pain.

Would downgrading 7 to XP be a horrible idea? I cannot play on pokerstars at the moment on my desktop b/c I cannot get HEM to work on my desktop.

Thanks.

Find all the drivers for XP first (Search the Dell web site). If you cannot get drivers for your hardware, then you effort will be of no use.

If your computer is brand new, there is a good chance that there will not be drivers for XP (which is 10-11 years old now).

Is this normal? When i drag the pokerstars table when using Windows 7, the table just goes real big and then i see a huge glitch?? Its like you see the screen is messed up and see like it look like a screen that is messed up in the bottom.

With XP, i had none of these problems. Can someone tell me why this happens?

I'm not a techy person but it's due to a "feature" of Windows 7 that allows you to take smaller windows and maximize them by dragging them to the sides of the screen. It happens to me when I'm moving a new table to a corner of the screen.

Just minimize it and it'll return to normal, try dragging again.

Anyone know how to turn off this feature?

Horrible idea, indeed. I mean, just give it a try and some 10 minute effort and you'll be able to handle it and install a program.

The effort expending installing XP and drivers could just as easily be expending getting used to 7 which is actually a pretty decent OS.

You're asking on HEM support here. You're asking a question that is answered in the video you're watching.

Seriously, you gave the answer yourself in your post. Instead of starting 3 threads for one fact, use the right button of your mouse once.

stopped reading half way down. Remember that for HEM to find FullTilt you have to play a hand on FTP before there is a hand history folder. At that point (after playing a hand), just go onto "add auto import folders" and then navigate to that HH folder and add it. Also remember that if you reinstalled FTP you have to go to options and have FTP save your hand histories (it doesnt save them by default).

And no, he doesn't mean internet explorer, he means windows explorer. He means go to your computer > program files > RVG Software > right click the Holdem Manager.exe (or hm hud.ex or dbcontrolpanel.exe) and go to "properties" > and check the box for "run this program as administrator" and hit apply.

You already have all the information to fix your problems. Just figure it out instead of freaking out because you don't understand it at first. It really takes common sense dude.

Just get used to Windows 7.

you have to move beyond XP sooner or later, and Windows 7 is a pretty polished OS.

Dude, the worst idea ever. Why? because you're frustrated with HEM? I just posted help in your other thread to get HEM working. There are also a multitude of threads covering this issue already. And above all, you already have the information you need to make it work, you're just not applying it.

I installed HEM on windows 7 in about 15 minutes. It really isn't hard.

not really sure what you're explaining here. Are your video drivers up to date? are your running windows Aero?

I don't have this problem. I drag a table to one part of my screen and it stays the same. I drag a table from one monitor to another and the size stays the same. I am using '7' but don't know of any special settings. I would guess it is on your computer or you would a 100 answers/complaints. Try the software forum here at 2+2.

i installed HEM into my new computer windows 7. I installed everything correctly but can someone explain why my stats are SO BIG? i can't even see the players names because of this. When i used my old desktop and laptop that uses XP, the stats were tiny so that it did not interfere with anything.

Can someone help me solve this problem? I play sngs by the way 10 players and these hud stats are just HUGE that it completely blocks players names and everything. I cannot even see many chips i have nor people nor even the chip stacks of anyone.

Thanks.
