What laptop should I buy? What laptop should I buy?

Hey I got a 2year old laptop with vista on it. It is 32-bit operating system w Intel Core 2 duo Cpu-T550 @1.83 Ghz. I have a 320Gb harddrive at 7200rpm and 3gb of ram.

I have been playing online poker on this laptop for about ayear now with holdem manger and the last couple of months it has just been getting slower. I cant stand it cause sometimes I cant act on my hands in time. If HEM is not runnign everything works fine.

I am not that tech savvy so I would just like to know what the best/cheapest option for a laptop that can still perform well with a Big HEM database.

And yes I do regularly vacuum analyse and defrag my cpu and it still runs slow.

@Santonio - Your laptop is fast enough to run HEM with a big database.

@rurollin - I can't link to it directly because dell's new outlet is poorly designed but. Go to http://outlet.dell.com
Find this laptop and use the coupon code G33V36FJ4W63CL to save 20%
Price: ~$420 after discount

@potu That laptop is pretty terrible. It's pretty large step down from the laptop mentioned in the OP.

If my laptop is fast enough then why is it running so slow when hem is running but working fine when it is not?

I opened this thread to suggest this to OP too.

So, yea, Inspiron is pretty nice. I have the 17'' one. It's not expensive and you can make yours yourself, so you can arrange pretty much to the price you want to put it.

I wouldn't call it terrible. It's just not a good deal for the money. The laptop I posted has a faster CPU, faster hard drive, more RAM, and costs $30 (now $130) less.

OTOH, the laptop potu posted is pretty terrible due to the CPU.

They don't seem to have the one you linked but one very similar.. Why should I buy a refurb, obviously they seem worth the money..

How do I tell what is has for inputs..?? I can't seem to find that info anywhere, or the life of the battery..

I appreciate your input..

Yep it looks like the one I posted got snagged up (no surprise). You buy refurb because they are virtually the same as a new model at a fraction of the cost.

here's another. I don't like it as much as the previous one I posted. Significantly slower CPU but still has the 7200rpm HD. I'd go for this one of one of the 15R with the i3 CPU.

second that. i'm a big fan of the outlet myself for its awesome pricing. occasionally, there's also interesting stuff in the lenovo outlet but it's not as consistent as dell outlet.

and, yeah, as funkyworms explained, always pick up Dell outlet laptops using a coupon.

Hi. Sorry I'm pretty much a computer noob but can somebody compare the different lines of dell laptops (inspiron, studio, latitude) in terms of performance and value and other possible important factors. Much appreciated.
