So is Chromecast actually supposed to work for streaming video? I see my computer screen just fine. But I have a really hard time streaming anything full screen. If it ever does work it's just for a few really choppy seconds, then the browser can't find chromecast.

You kids and your streaming. **** this ****. Give me a solid connection and a DVR any day. I can't get DTV in my current place and FIOS movie selection blows giant chunks. I might actually go out and buy a DVD player today.

So I finished the Insight data engineering boot camp program (and managed to land a job!). I was thinking of doing a long writeup but have writers block and laziness.

I would definitely start now. I'm in a similar position and will be in school until December as well. I sent out a couple dozen resumes in the last couple weeks and have already set up several interviews. The hiring process takes quite a bit of time.

Any recommendations for good password managers that people use? I'm sort of using Keychain and Passpack but neither of them are amazing. I'll probably go to Passpack for everything unless I get a good recommendation.

Any of you Linux folks have experience with the Nix package manager or NixOS? I've been finding that Ubuntu (or Debian which I was using before) is not ideal for modern software development and at least on paper, NixOS seems exactly like what I want in a distribution.

I tried the mental scheme thing - but it didn't work that well for me. I like the idea of being able to just generate long random passwords whenever I want - especially when some site is compromised or I just want to change that password.

I trust the security of the reputable password management companies WAY more than the security of banks/credit card/government sites.

I don't use mint but I think the access levels that the bank accounts give to mint are only for viewing. I imagine that is the case. If that's not the case I wouldn't use it.
