Deal searching, and wondering if I had purchased a SSD for a laptop if it would work on a desktop, and if so, would it be dramatically slower than a desktop SSD? Or are the differences nothing major.
Generally SSD come in 2.5" form factor which is perfect for laptops. Most desktops harddrives are 3.5" form factor, so most SSD come with a mounting bracket for desktops.
The drives are the same.
The only difference is if you start talking about ultrabooks/netbooks. *some* of them use a pci-e SSD to save space (like Dell Mini 9) and these would be incompatible with a desktop. This is a *small* minority of laptops.
