I am looking into getting a new PC. My use is mostly playing poker, however I also need to use basic office stuff (word etc), internet and for storing videos and pictures as well as music.

I currently have a dual monitor setup but I am looking into getting a 2 20" and a 30" setup.

I have a huge poker database and it currently takes my computer forever to do anything withit. I really need a computer that can allow me to datamine the database with ease.

I know this is probably an annoying question but I have been searching this forum and the rest of the internet for a couple of days now and I am still lost.

Mods if your pissed please just lock the thread and please don't give me any infraction points.

If you don't mind doing the research yourself, I would recommend going to www.tomshardware.com and figuring out what you need, then www.pricewatch.com and selecting a vendor to put it together for you.

You don't mention budget though. Budget, beyond all other considerations, will usually make most of the important decisions automatically for you.

I am hoping to spend under $1000 for the desktop itself.

Thanks btw

Try these as a primer:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...lock,2310.html

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...-sff,2312.html

Note that it's probably already outdated, and possibly $100-500 cheaper by now, but it will give you a good idea of what's the best price/value components today and a starting point.

But then again, you could just put up a thread saying "I have 1k, suggest to me a build" and be done with it.

FWIW, people are much more likely to critique an already made list of components than suggest one themselves (we're lazy).

I really appreciate the help I have gotten. Once I get a better idea of components Ill list them.

Thanks again
