Anyone have any experience with Psystar computers? I'd love to pick up a cheap Macintosh clone, but it almost sounds too good to be true (which was my opinion before Apple went and sued them).
Edit: their website (www.psystar.com) just seems... sketchy.
They were legit in the sense that they actually produced hardware that ran Apple software, but it was just a matter of time before Apple squashed them. It didn't help that they started producing X-server clones either.
bumping this old-ass thread bc i just read this article today talking about how psystars beat mac to the punch by incorporating blue ray capability. anyone know anything else about these?
OS X doesn't support Blu Ray yet anyway, so this is all smoke and mirrors. It's not like you can buy one of these machines and magically start watching Blu Ray movies on OS X. All you'll be able to use the drive for is as a BD-ROM burner/reader.
I'm not seeing what the big deal is about getting blu ray on a laptop that is barely 780p. Then again I don't watch movies on my laptop anymore, when I did I ripped them first so I wouldn't have to run the DVD drive which kills battery life.
