I have been having continued problems with getting stars to work on my university network, the latest of many emails from stars stated that i must tunnel these components
PokerStars Update (PokerStarsUpdate.exe)
PokerStars GUI (PokerStars.exe)
PokerStarsCommunicate (PokerStarsCommunicate.exe)

through proxifier to get it working

My question is how do i do this. I have proxifier installed just no idea how to use it

Well I never used that app, but it looks like you're not tunneling all the necessary applications through the proxy.

The ask you to tunnel their components so just browse to those executables and right click then select "proxify" in the shell menu to add them to the tunneling. Otherwise just tunnel everything going out from your computer except the loopback zone as shown there :

Do you have a proxy?

That is step #1.

Really a VPN is a better option though as you tunnel ALL your traffic through it

AceMuncher on the second link you gave me, I'm very new to this whole topic so really have no clue. Would I enter in the i.p adress and port number of the network i am on? Is that all i need to do?

If you setup a proxy tunneling software, you must know at least the IP of your proxy gateway ... otherwise it won't work. You either know one you can use or a paid service you subscribed for.

If you just ran it like it is without any more input thinking it would work out of the box, no wonder Online poker clients won't work, they need more than the standard TCP 80 port.

PS : if you just ran the software without any more info and you don't have a proxy server to connect with, better work with a VPN solution Freakin is offering you : you will be sure all your ports will be redirected and all your data secured : there would be no way for someone to sniff your activities on the network.

I know the ip adress and the port number, unfortunately I have no idea what else to do. I have installed proxifier and when I do what I think is the right thing it just makes the problem worse. AT first i couldnt even access the lobby ( which is what happens when i make changes with proxifier) however now i can access the lobby just no connection!
