Problems with wireless keyboard and mouse Problems with wireless keyboard and mouse

Hey

I bought a ms wireless keyboard and mouse combo a while ago. Both the mouse and the keyboard are fairly unresponsive and reliable, e.g. ill be typing and the keyboard and it will miss a letter and Ill have to go back and fix it. The mouse is very jerky which makes something that needs precision mouse movement (poker for example).

This is disappointed as I assumed they'd work just as well as a regular keyboard and mouse (sans the wires). Anyone know what the problem is?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Ryan

do the batteries still have the appropriate charge? is the receiver within the appropriate distance with a relatively unobstructed path to the keyboard/mouse? is the USB port that you're using working correctly with other devices?

Yea ive changed the batteries so it isn't that. There's a wooden desk between the keyboard/ mouse and usb port, should that cause problems? Ill test the usb port with other things soon.

make sure your drivers are up to date. Also for the mouse, what surface are you using it on? a mouspad or a table top. If a table, does the table have a shiny/glass finish on it? Wooden tables with very distinct grain patterns can also be a problem.

ah so maybe its the wooden table top thats the problem. The keyboard works a lot better now that I plugged the thing in a different usb port.
