Guys
Ive recently purchased a Crucial M500 120GB 2.5-inch Internal SSD as an additional drive for my desktop ( I have 2 exisiting HHDs in place). I am running 64 Bit Windows 7 Ultimate.
So far I have successfully plugged it into my motherboard (Asus P7H55-M) and found that is recognised in BIOS and in device manager but when I go to Disk Management (in order to Initialize my SSD) it is not recognised and my computer only sees the existing drives. Ive also tried to install a copy of windows on the new SSD drive via my Windows installation disk but again its is not recognised.
I've been onto the supplier's live help but that was just painful and I've trawled the internet but now I'm just confused,
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff so I'm hoping someone has experienced similar problems and could give me a step by step guide to solving this. Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You might need to update the firmware of the ssd for it to be recognised - you can download the latest firmware from Crucials website.

My guess is the system hadn't assigned a drive letter to the SSD. That would cause it to: show up in bios, show up in disk management, but not show up in "my computer". I had a drive crash this past weekend so had to re-install everything. One of the old drives for some reason showed up in bios and disk management, but not in my computer. Turns out the system hadn't assigned a drive letter to it. The moment I did viola! It shows up.
