My windows system was corrupted so windows support sent me a new windows vista home premium sp1 disk to perform a clean install. I used the windows backup feature to back up all my files to the D drive. I then performed the clean install. I restored the items onto the new system, however it seems only the folders are accessible not the programs themselves. Will I need to redownload all the programs or is there a way to access them? Also it says this computer does not have a wireless adapter installed and configured, so i cannot connect to the internet.

you'll need to reinstall the programs. having a copy of the program folder won't do it. you'll also need to install the driver for your wireless adapter. get it from the manufacturer's website.

look in the device manager for any unknown devices. i assume there will be at least 1 and that your wireless adapter will be there. double click the unknown device that you can determine is the adapter in question, click the driver tab, and update the driver manually (pointing it to the driver you downloaded). also double check that you have the correct driver.

if the wireless adapter is actually listed under network adapters, check the properties to verify whether it is working properly as far as windows knows.

Ya, and it tells me that you didn't install chipset drivers because that's a part of your chipset -.-

With LPC, the Legacy Port Controller comes to my mind which is responsible for older ports like floppy, PS/2, Midi port, parallel port, com or serial port and ISA iirc.

As your modem might be connected over an internal serial, there might come up some future issues if you leave that unresolved, I think cardreaders use ISA too.

As this controller is in so many devices, windows should have built in drivers for it.

Just go to:

device manager / right click the line with the yellow exclamation mark / add driver manually and then just search in the list for "ICH9M LPC" et voilá.
