I believe 1920x1200 will be better for poker.

This is what I have at work.

For poker:

1) get 1920 x 1200 ahead of 1920x1080. Having 1200 horizontal lines of resolution will allow you to fit two tables above each other without resizing.

2) get the cheapest monitor possible.

For gaming:

1) get the one with the smallest display lag/latency.

The problem is most LCD monitors (25in and below) have a standard 1920x1024 resolution. I may get that refurbished LG monitor.

It's the opposite imo. The display is the most used pc component of all.
Buying TN-Panels nowadays is just wrong.

Putting an top class display next to a cheap one, literally opens your eyes.
We should treat our eyes good and the cheapest of all panels don't really fulfill this job.

Really the wrong spot to save money if you're using your pc 4hours+ a day.

You can have very good monitors in use way longer than your desktop, therefore it's ok when your display costs more than your pc.

I would recommend EIZO displays to everyone basically. Although they might be a little overkill for the most.

Otherwise, you should be good with a regular IPS Panel and you can get them for good value.
