people like apple because they look nice and work, there's been a long debate at some point recently between apple's and window's, both have there high points, depends on the amount of money your willing to spend and how savy you are about computers imo.

For poker though you kinda have to go with windows, dell's are probably the way to go, just make sure to try it out (in a store or something) before you buy it. That's the biggest piece of advice that I can give you, if you buy a $2K laptop online and it has an annoying mouse or something you're stuck with it.

I have a thinkpad T61 personally, but I don't multitable that much so it isn't that big of an issue and absolutly love the smaller size.

You really need to figure out what you need the laptop to do 1st. The best and cheapest laptop for poker is a dell.

You want a 17in high res monitor for multi-tabling
You want at least 1gig of ram and an intel duel core processor esp if you want to run poker tracker.
Other than that you could get a graphics card for gaming.
All this should run you under 1k. Make sure you get a dell coupon, it will save you $200-300.

There are plenty of threads on this topic if you care to look.

Apple makes great laptops and can run windows. The only problem is they cost double what a dell does.

Yeah, agree. Dell is the way to go if just do some basic surfing, emails, gaming, etc. I just got this Dell Vostro 1400 for only $599, it just works well for me.
