Look up what the difference is between an "LED" and LCD actually is.
But to answer your question, an LED is going to be a more vibrant, brighter picture across the whole screen.
This results in a better quality picture, and a better display if used in dark rooms. Also even better black levels. More on par with plasma.
If cost is no option, go LED.
