You shouldn't buy a laptop looking just at specs. I mean, yeah, if the laptop will always sit on your desk and you'll always have it hooked up to external keyboard, external mouse, and external display then you can mostly look at specs. But if not, things like design and ergonomics are tremendously important.
There are about one gazillion laptops with these specs. Except they might use a slightly different video card. But that doesn't really make a difference. These laptops run in the $700-$900 range (depending on some other things you don't list). What sets them apart are things such as built quality, battery life, design.

But yeah, a laptop with these specs will do the job. I agree a higher resolution such as 1600x900 would be preferable--but 1366x768 is def the standard resolution screen in this class and you have more models to choose from. A 7200rpm drive would be a bit nicer than a 5400rpm drive, too.
