I am having a really annoying problem.. everytime I go to shut down my PC (windows 7) it says there are updates that need to be installed. Every time it shuts down and goes through an 8-step update. Any ideas on how to fix this? Should I contact Microsoft?

It sounds like for some reason your PC is having a problem installing automatic updates. You can try manually updating. Goto start>programs and open windows update, download and install all of the non-optional updates.
