How can I track a Random Gmail I received? How can I track a Random Gmail I received?

Hello,

Quick backstory is I've been apart from my ex girlfriend for 3 weeks now. Last Friday I received a random email from a gmail account advising me that my ex has HIV blah blah and to get tested. I'm at the clinic and ask who hell was sending me this, and how they got my email. Person says to stay away from her or we'd have problems if I pop up in her phone again. I call my ex to advise her and she some how blames it all on me by the next morning all bc I added her roommate on fbook months ago, and he just did check the thing. I have fbook deactivated 99% of the year.

I still use my aol account from way back in the day. I tried to click view message source and lookup the IP but I got this when I tried it "This is likely a mail server—not an individual. Comments about an individual may not apply to the person you are talking to."

I wanna get to the bottom of this and find out who the hell sent it to me. Its her or her new guy and she should know it. Is there any way that I can do this?

gmcarroll33,

The problem that you describe is not a computer or technical problem. It is a social or legal problem.

You should seek advice from a trusted friend, parent or sibling, not random strangers on the internet.
