Help, please: What hardware/controller to use with xpadder to best minimize wrist problems? Help, please: What hardware/controller to use with xpadder to best minimize wrist problems?

I'm going to try using something other than a mouse to play poker on Stars (mainly) and FTP. I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows XP Pro.

Right now, I'm thinking of trying xpadder with a game controller. Since I don't play any video games, I don't have any game controllers, so I need to buy one.

What should I buy? What have you found best to reduce the risk of wrist problems and any other RSI from playing online poker?

Any other advice or tips is much appreciated!

Thank you very much!!

I highly recommend the Logitech G13.

I'm not a gamer either. This thing is awesome! You have a joystick if you need it (with "mouse" buttons next to it).

The best parts..... there are 22 buttons you can program! Also, if you play in the dark, the keys light up.

Now I always use it when I play. It makes the whole experience so much easier (and your wrist will thank you).

If you do get it and need help programming it, I would gladly help.

Logitech G13 = A+ imo

Moving this to CTH as it's not really software related (plus they might already have a thread with good info on this that they can direct you to).

FWIW, I thought it was software related -- and might get better answers there -- because people who use xpadder could say what game controller(s) works best with the xpadder software (and suggest other software, too).

Sorry if I misplaced the thread.

Sorry if I misplaced the thread.
You might also try posting in this thread and seeing if anybody replies (but as I said at the end of the thread: most recent xpadder-related posts have gone unanswered in the software forum).

It took a while to get used to switching bewteen various controllers, but my wrists like the variety... gamepads, numpads but the most comfy is playing using my flight sim throttle. CH pro throttle.

My advice is just use anything you're comfortable holding... anything with buttons can be made to work. The gamepad I use most often is some cheap chinese non-brand that just feels like butter in my hands and has clean buttons.

The throttle leaves my right hand free for table/lobby controls... one of these days I'll program generic comments for player notes as well as lobby control into the fighterstick... HOTAS online poker...
