Upon plugging my Samsung SyncMaster 204B monitor into my HP laptop (with Vista) the power indicator light begins to flash as if it is on standby. Previous to plugging it into the laptop, the light is constant with a box floating around reading 'Check Signal Cable' with the appropriate 3 coloured boxes indicating the monitor is functioning properly.

I have re-installed the necessary drivers and fiddled around in the Display setting for quite awhile. The computer recognizes the monitor but does not display the mirrorred or extended desktops.

I know somebody on 2+2 must have had this same problem at one point, this is the monitor that Pokerstars sent me for FPP's.

Can somebody PLEASE lend some helpful hints in order to fix this FRUSTRATING problem.

Did you hit the function key that sends a signal to the external monitor?

if by that you mean hitting Fn F4 then ya i have already tried that. My laptop screen will flicker and go back to normal but the external monitor will remain blank.
