Is this a good setup ? Is this a good setup ?

Hi everyone,

Looking to build my own new computer as it's far cheaper, just wondering if I can get some advice if this is a good setup for a desktop mainly used for massive multitabling Poker / Gaming:

AMD x4 Core Quad 965 3.40Ghz
AMD Boxed Cooling Fan
AMD 790X Chipset
1GB ATI 5570 2D/3D PCI-E Video Card
8GB DDR3 Memory
1TB SATA 2 Hard Disk
A-Power Quality SUB2.0 Front Medium Tower Case
High Definition Audio CODEC 6 Channel Sound (Integrated)
Windows 7 Home Premium

Also I currently dual monitor, but am interested in possibly setting up a triple monitor setup - does anyone know if there is anything else I need in order to set this up? (I believe this video card supports triple monitors - can someone confirm this?)

Thanks in advance

Its AMD so its a great set up!
8 Gb of RAM maybe more than you will use. You could just go with 4-6Gb to save a few bucks.
Also did you say you were getting two hard drives?

It's good, but the CPU consumes a lot of energy (125W TDP) and so produces a lot of heat. If you think you need the power, e.g. for gaming, than its okay. But then you should buy a case where you can place the PSU on the bottom - otherwise the PSU will get very hot or the PSU fan will speed up.
Maybe consider a less powerful but energy saving CPU like the AMD Phenom II X4 910e (65W TDP) ?

You did not list a PSU, but I would like to recommend you a quality PSU with a temperature-controlled fan. Calculate the optimal size of your PSU with this tool (add a 20% reserve): http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
A solid power supply is crucial for a PCs stability !

Note that some HD5570 have 3 video outputs, but most have only 2 - it depends on the model !
