Good laptop with 1900x1200 resolution?

Looking to buy a new laptop but everyone I find got 1920x1080 which sucks since poker tables by default are 800x600.
Anyone know where I can find a laptop with 1900x1200 resolution which is not totally overpriced?

Not quite sure what you mean. But. I have a 21 inch with 1920x1080p, and I can comfortably tile 12 tables. I mean you can resize your tables... Sincerely, Captian Obvious.

Yes but the problem with resizing is that some help programs/scripts don't work.
Also some sites you can only used fixed tablesizes and who knows where I will play in the future.

Thanks for the obvious though. Seems like the only option

The only 1920x1200 laptop I can think of is a macbook pro 17" and you won't get that for under $2500 unless you buy it on ebay/used. In short, it's impossible to get a laptop w/ that resolution for a cheap/resonable price, you're gonna have to pay extra for it. All the higher end laptops are 1920x1080 now, 1920X1200 is pretty much gone in laptops and is being phased out for the most part in desktop monitors/tv's (they're still available, just a very small part of the market).

i have a 15" lenovo that i got a few years ago with 1920x1200, but as atara said, they have become pretty tough to find at any reasonable price.

I'd hate to derail this thread (if I do, I'm sorry), but also don't think opening a new one is necessary.
Technical question: 1080p looks better/sharper etc. on 15' than on 17.3', right? Poker-wise, will I go blind/insane within a month if I tile 9 tables with HUD on a 15' with 1080p? What about general use, is it too small?

I got a possibly stupid question related to 1920x1080.
I tried it on my current laptop which supports 1900x1200.
When I changed the setting to 1920x1080 everything looked a bit blurry.
Is this because my screen is made specificly towards 1900x1200 or do the 1920x1080 look more blurry? :/

your screen is probably made for the 1920x1200. the native resolution should look the best

is anyone out there playing on a 1920x1080 screen.
if so, can you 12 table without overlay or even 9 table w/o overlay.

ive got a 1920x1200 which is awesome, however, its like possessed and i cant really grind on siht anymore without terrible crashes going down while playing.
and the 1920x1200s aren't really being made anymore (from what ive found)

Poker tables' default size is 800x560. They were designed for a 2x2 square on the 1600x1200 monitors that were standard when Party was really taking off.

Problem is 560x2 >> 1080 if you want to play default sized windows.

Also, if you want to play 9 tables in a 3x3, 1080 makes the tables a lot smaller

Doesn't make a difference for 3x2 tables though.

x1200 panels are being phased out of production as they realized the cost of them was much higher and most consumers don't know the difference. I found this out while talking to a store owner when I was looking for a 22-24" lcd with 19x12 res

Players are always asking sites to make improvements in software. I wonder if anyone's suggested coming up with a more ideal table size.

Lenova doesn't seem to offer new W701's anymore in Canada and none of the base W520 models come with an SSD. You can choose it as an option, but then four weeks get added to the estimated shipping date.

Can anyone recommend another laptop that comes with an SSD, or is it better to buy one with the cheapest HD available and swap in an SSD?

Maybe there's a local retailer who has one in stock in .ca or just get the HDD that's in it, buy a 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosure for cheap and use it as external drive and get the SSD separately.

My Sony Vaio had 1900x1080,but he died. Now i want one with minimum of 1600x1200, but seems most (around 800$)laptops go only to max 1600x900,wtf?
We all agree a laptop for poker needs at least 1980x1080 right?

You need to spend beaucoup bucks to get a decent ratio. Everyone is 16:9 1366x768 or 1600x900. I can't even find 16:10 1680x1050 which would probably be acceptable. 4:3s are a distant memory.

Yeah, series seems EOL.

I suppose they will present a successor. If you don't want to wait, the elitebooks are your best option imo.

Thanks for the advice. This seems to be the most cost efficient option for getting a new poker laptop, but I am wondering if swapping out the HD will invalidate the warranty for the entire laptop.

Also, since the new laptop likely doesn't come with a Windows CD, will reinstalling the OS and proper drivers on the new HD be problematic?
