Just wondering what people's thoughts are on either of these two monitors. Trying to decide which one to buy. Mainly gonna be using it for poker, although some computer work, video gaming, and movies.

Thanks!

If the big price difference doesn't scare you away, just think about what you'll be using the monitor for.

Every millimeter of vertical screen estate is worth so much more than horizontal dimensions.
One never scroll sideways, but up and down all the time obviously,

Imo it's worth it for the aspect ratio, the fact that it's exactly 20" horizontally and somehow everything seems to fit perfectly on the x1600 but that's a very subjective matter.

i was considering one of the ultrasharps from 24/27/30 but i like two monitors so i'm going to grab two of the u2312's when they're on sale. which will probably be cheaper than any of the bigger ones for a single

Does the 30'' monitor allow you to add more tables compared to the 27'' monitor? If it does not then there is no point in buying it. Just take the table size that you will use and calculate if it is worth it or not. In my case the 27'' was the right choice. Also if you buy a laptop make sure it has a dual-link DVI or displayport connector because last time I checked you couldn't get the maximum resolution with HDMI.

Version 1.3 was released in June of 2006.

HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices, such as higher resolutions, Deep Color and high frame rates. In addition, built into the HDMI 1.3 specification is the technical foundation that will let future versions of HDMI reach significantly higher speeds.

However, any modern GPU will offer a dual link dvi socket anyways.
