what kinda computer are you using?

i had problems at first getting my settings to allow me to use the full resolution even tho my video card surely supported it. basically i had to mess with the settings in the video card software settings rather than windows settings.

CPU: AMD Athlon x2 4850e, 2*2.5ghz
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM
Hard Drive: Western Digital 640GB SATA II
RAM: 2*2 GB A-Data CL5

The video card supports "Single dual-link DVI output which supports 2560 x 1600 at 30Hz resolution displays".

Does that mean that i can t use both dvi outputs (1 for the 30" and 1 for the 20") while using the 2560 * 1600 resolution?

It should work out of the box. However, your card is very old. EDIT: are you sure the card in the link is the one you have? I have my doubts... However, assuming it is the card:

What version of the ATI driver (legacy series) are you running? From the AMD/ATI site, it seems the latest driver is 10.2 (dated Feb. '09).

Did you hook up the monitor using a dual-link DVI cable?

Radish--I doubt you own the video card you claim you have. I just googled that board and at least revision 2.0 features PCIe, not AGP

Little ways down http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface on the left are pics of the various types of DVI cables. Make sure yours matches on of the Dual DVI pinouts.

yes. verify using dbldown's link but this is almost certainly the issue. get a dual-link cable from alternate.de or the like.

have you tried restarting the machine? Sometimes video cards can be finicky about increasing the max resolution on a monitor with rebooting first.

Makes sense, that card is old enough that its not gonna handle the 30" at max resolution along with another monitor.
