What do you mean by stuck? I am not a tech guy but it strikes me that the issue might be something other than your laptop, but based on the specs you provided I think you do need a better laptop even if it didn't get stuck during a hand.

i would always take a intel core i3 i5 i7 over any other intel or AMD cpu. They are intels latest and best cpus with lower power consumption and better integrated graphics.

Choosing a good CPU (and GPU if gaming) is one of the most important things when picking a laptop. They are for the most part soldered down and you cant replace it. Ram and hard drive for the most part can be upgraded later on.

When you get the laptop, I would make sure the OS is up to date. If it is Windows 8.1, I remember a story that said if a certain update wasn't done by a certain time, the computer wouldn't receive any further updates. I've tried googling, but haven't found anything yet.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

Got the laptop and everything seems to be working fine. Only thing I didn't consider is the aspect ratio is 16:9 so it didn't really help with the table overlap. It just extended the right and left sides of the screen.

Here's some photos of the new laptop:

nice. you can move the taskbar to the right or left of the screen to give you a little more room.

What OS did it end up having?

Hey, Urban Surfer

First thing to learn with your new computer: use of the PrtScn button, or print to pdf. Choose at least one of these, please!

Ratio 16:9? What ratio would You need to clearly see HUD stats while 8-tabling? (on 17 inch one)
Cheers.

Good idea! Duh, should've thought of that.

I'm not sure what you mean or I don't follow the importance of those?

Whatever the the standard ratio is. Right now there is pretty much the same amount of table overlap vertically although I'm going to take LTG's suggestion of putting the taskbar on the right. Hopefully that will do the trick.

16:9 is standard now. 1920x1200 used to be more common but now manufacturers use the same panels TVs use.

Standard table window size (FTP and PS 800x570) were designed for 1600x1200 monitors that were standard back in the early 2000s. The tables were designed for 2x2 tile with just enough space for the taskbar at the bottom.

I see. Good to know. Putting the task bar on the side did help a little. But there is still some overlap. Oh well. Better than it was.
