I want to make some video's with CamStudio 2.5 on my Win 7 HP x64 system. I would like to keep the files small because I will be recording mainly in 1600*1200 resolution, so I need modern codecs, preferably h264. I found some codecs via the CamStudio forum, but for some reason I cannot select those in Video Options after I installed them, like you can see here:

I also cannot pick Lame codec for audio. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this so the newer codecs show up?

Took me a while but I think I fixed it. Did not try to record a video yet, too tired, but I got to configure CamStudio.

It seems only 32bit codecs work. Tried this 32bit codec and it appears in the Video options. Also fixed lame acm:

Here's a solution:

First, copy all the files that come with lame into a directory (I used c:\temp\lame).
Then choose start menu->accessories->command prompt. Type "cd c:\windows\syswow64" or replace c:\windows with whatever your windows x64 directory is.
Then type "rundll32 setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 0 c:\temp\lame\lameACM.inf" (replace c:\temp\lame with whatever directory you used in the first part) which should install lame properly.
