Baffled on Video Quality Baffled on Video Quality

I have two laptops.

Old one is Inspiron 9300. (1920x1200) XP OP basic harware

New one is Inspiron 1720 (1920x1200) Vista more RAM Better Processor, video card etc.

When I watch movies instantly on NetFlix (same internet connection) the video quality is "high" on the old 9300 with a superb picture.

The Video Quality is "Basic" on the 1720 with a fuzzy picture.

The information on video quailty on netflix says how internet speed affects video quality. I ran internet speed performance tests on both laptops, and the 1720 seems to load text and images much much faster.

I am truely baffled.

Any ideas?

doubt it's Vista that is causing this.

One way to find out....

But honestly, it has to be Vista - if only by saying Vista we imply the drivers and codecs that are available to Vista - but not necessarily Vista the OS.

Me thinks it's drivers for Vista, and combination of router drivers for Vista computers.
I Found a work around, by calling Netflix support.

Did they tell you to install XP?

But seriously if it did resolve the quality issue, what was it?

It was a hot key drop down, that works for their software.

<Shift> B, then drop down to higher resolution quality.
