You can use 2 button mice with MBPs no problem. If you use it a lot in brightly lit rooms you may want to go look at the glossy screens, they are pretty mirror like. If you primarily use it in a dim room or one without direct lights close by it shouldn't matter. The screens on the MBP are getting great reviews other than that, the mac books, not so much.

im on my macbook pro right now outside. (got the $2500 on yesterday) its glare is ridiculous (anyone know what to do about that). and, well i mean its a mac, so it has random compatability problems. and 1440x990 kinda sucks, can't get 2 tables without overlap.

the trackpad is pretty cool. despite me misclicking off thousands of dollars this morning, i like that i can scroll pages with 2 fingers. and change windows with 4 fingers. but ya i really should get a mouse for poker..

but what are you gonna do, dont think theres a better computer out. so now ill just wait till something better come then ditch this.

bootcamp makes windows run fine. that + VMWare is sweet.

brag: just walked out of apple store with 2.4 ghz macbook.

beat: just upgrading from 5 year old powerbook g4

So, being completely new to this intel world, I want to run windows so I can use HM, PTO, etc.

What would you recommend? Bootcamp, parallels, or vmware fusion?

played on a mac book pro for 1 year. used boot camp. here are the problems:

1) the glare. you can't adjust the brightness of the screen very well. with the brightness all the way up it's like staring at the sun. adjust it one notch down and it's so dull that i can barely focus on playing.

2) take the tap/enter function off the track pad or use a mouse. its just way too dangerous when playing. guaranteed to misclick.

3) start-up/shut down issue. installed windows. works fine for a few months. then once or twice a week, i cant get it to start up in windows. sometimes it only takes 10 tries. sometimes it takes 3 hours and 50 tries and by this time i'm so frustrated with the puter that i shouldn't probably be playing. after this problem kept happening, i reinstalled windows. worked great. then a few months later. same problem. reinstalled again. 2 months later same problem. repeat. repeat.

saved up enough points on ftp and got the vaio. couldn't be happier.

oh i never used VMWare. maybe this is why i had problems.
