Adobe Photoshop Kicks In...Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Adobe Photoshop Kicks In...Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

On a USB stick, amongst many other files I have some photos. Whenever I connect to my laptop with the USB stick Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition
3.2 - Photo Downloader kicks in. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Does anyone have a fix to stop Adobe Photoshop from auto starting whenever I use my USB stick? I have thought about removing Adobe Photoshop from my system but think it a bit extreme. I suppose I could remove it and save it to the very same USB stick!

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Stick it in, My Computer, right-click on it > Properties > Autoplay, you should be able to fix this there.

Thanks for your help. I tried this. It did not work. Once I was in Autoplay, I also tried a few alternatives but did not work either.

Also, I tired My Computer, right click on drive E (the USB stick), Autoplay (not your Properties>Autoplay) and that did not work either. Though it did stop the box that appears for the USB stick form popping up - a box that asks what you wish to do with the various types of files on the new drive.

Adobe Photoshop was somehow starting up on its own. I had before trying your option gone into Remove Programs and Repaired it but to no avail. So after your suggestion and a few independent tinkerings I have removed it from my system.

When I now insert the USB stick, I get a noise that alerts me that it has connected to the system but no box asking what to do with the various types of files on it nor the dreaded Adobe Photoshop.

Not a perfect fix (a perfect fix would have kept the Adobe Photoshop on my system) but perfect enough in this imperfect world.

A bonus is not having to deal with the usual USB box asking what to do with the various types of files on it when first connecting up.

You need to associate your image files with a different program. Check in the Adobe program options and uncheck anything that says automatically.
