So I'm shopping for a new laptop. How's the quality on the Acer's?? They seem to be a decent price for the spec, but I don't know anybody who has one to get feedback.

Thoughts on HP laptops? I had a HP desktop many years ago and wasn't happy with it.

I kn ow some people that would advise you not to buy ACER. I haven't ever had one. I have an HP and its doing fine. Except that I hate it came with useless OS (Vista home premium)

Acers have a pretty bad reliability rating

Bummer on the acers cause Costco has a core i5 for $650.

How about Asus laptops? Lenovo?

I've given the HP's a look, but I haven't been impressed. The lenovo's seem pretty beefy.

Asus laptops are great, they come with standard warranty 2 years global and 1 year accidental- as long as you don't buy it at Pest Buy. They make you pay for the geek squad ripoff treatment.

acer laptops are doodoo from what ive seen. i know 3 people that HAD them for less than a year
