I was having internet problems with quest dsl. I recently just had cable internet installed in my home. Therefore, I have to possible internet connections in my home. I know internet in my area is often unreliable. I was wondering if there was some way to be either connected to both connections at once; or setting it up so that if my primary connection goes down the other connection springs up immediately. I really just want to find a way to eliminate disconnects while playing poker. I appreciate your responses. Thanks

Not that I'm aware of... Windows can get really confused from what I remember when you have two simultaneous connections, just have your router right next to your desk and when one connection drops, instantly switch to the other cord and it should have you back online in < 30 seconds.

I am having to add a back up internet supply. The question OP ask is what I am interested in. The time in between connections is pretty crucial. Say I get a sprint Air card, Would I leave that plugged into my usb already connected or just insert it and start up the software after the disconnect.

Today, my internet has went out on my 5 times. Sometimes for 15 seconds and other times for 6-7 minutes. I really wish I could have my back up pick up as soon as my primary goes out

thanks for any help, suggestions, etc.

I looked into this a while ago and you can get routers where you plug a primary source in and another in an ethernet or USB port. Apparently when the primary source fails it switches to the other, and then back again when the primary is back. The problem I had is that I could only find for ADSL and not cable.

Couldn't you install a second ethernet card and bridge the connections in Windows' Network Connections?

Or enable only one in Network Connections and if it goes down, disable it and enable the other, like <10 sec reconnect time.
