Haven't watched Olderer in a while but it looks like his topspin drives have more "bite" on them or something. Balls are dropping hard at the last second where I'd have expected them to sail in the past. Did he change equipment again?

Murray has a top 10 open era win % on grass, I've seen him play a lot of grass court tennis, that's one of his best performances, he had one break point and lost in straight sets.

Tennis experts, what do people generally think are Rafa's odds of finishing with more majors than Fed? 20%?

Federer played well, even if he brings that game on Sunday I'd assume he's a small dog to Djokovic. If he doesn't play as well Sunday he'll get slaughtered.

Erm, if Federer's first serve % is 75 he's a big favourite v. Djokovic. If his first serve % is 75 and he makes less than 4 errors a set he's easily a 95% favourite. Federer is the GOAT grass court player and this was one of his best ever performances. Federer's level could slip quite a lot and he'd still be favourite.

Fed still has equity in all four slams. Rafa won't win Wimbledon and likely won't get to passed the first week and is a dog on hard courts. French if he can get his fitness back probably but Novak is going to push him all the way there now. Murray is better on clay. Stan is quality and Fed is still Fed for the next few years on clay as well.

Cool, I'm just a casual fan. I know his injuries are a big concern, but is there more to it? 5 years younger and only 3 less majors, right? Figured even with his recent issues he has a decent chance. Of course, if Rog gets a couple more before he's done that would change a lot.

Yea, makes sense, the quality at the top right now is insane, still surprised to see 1-3% estimates!

I'd put Federer's equity at around 1.2 more majors including his equity from this Sunday. If Djokovic falls off for whatever reason, he can still potentially win on any surface.

Nadal may be only one year older than Murray/Djokovic but I think his effective age is more like four years older. I don't think Nadal has much equity off clay. Still, ton of equity on clay, I'd give him equity for 1.8 more majors. Doesn't have to run too amazing to tie Federer, four more is really stretching it though. If Federer wins Sunday he has it about wrapped up.

Are you serious dude?? you cant be serious, or else just now we watched two different matches. Fed is serving 76%, and is dominating the net. plus his h2h against novak is really good, especially over the past 6 or so matches. Surely he has over 55-60% against novak in his current state.

For some perspective:

74% first serves in is outstanding.

12 aces in three sets v. a big four player is good.
1 double fault in three sets is very good.
17 unforced errors in three sets is excellent.
35 winners in three sets v. a big four player is excellent.
8/11 net approaches v. a big four player is very good.

And those are Murray's stats!

He's been hampered by his knees for years and years due to his style of play. It's isn't great on the body. Even in previous years where he's gone out in r1-r4 of Wimbledon he's won the French a few weeks prior. He's getting beat from Andy on clay now as well. Mean I hope I'm proved wrong but it'd be tough for him and will take at least 5 years for him to look at 2 or 3 more slams where as roger will still be t4 material in 2 years time.

I remember wanting to bet with people on here think dgbg agreed that Roger will still be elite come Rio.

nadal is 0% to pass federer because he's ****ing done

better question is what are novak's odds? i'd say 50/50 he passes him

I think Federer's and Nadal's actual ages are of less importance than the state of their bodies now. Nadals game is a lot more physical, and Federer is the opposite. i could see federer competing at the highest level for another five years. i honestly do not see the same thing in Nadal, considering his current problems.
