I'm a SJ Sharks fan and every year I grow a playoff beard. My beard grows fast so it's not a huge issue but I'm never sure when to "officially" start growing the beard. As a die hard fan, when is the last moment I'm allowed to shave before growing the playoff beard?

I'll admit to having to risk jinxing them this year. My wife is taking the daughter in for her 1-month-old photos and she told me that I will be in some of them. I even got a new shirt just for this. I don't usually wear a beard, so I don't want to be furry-faced for these photos. The baby is one of the few things I love more than the Sharks. Good luck in your first game or two without me, Sharks.

Seriously? Redwings fans will already be tripping over their beards by the time the playoffs start. NHL playoffs are so long as it is - my beard gets unruly by the middle of the second round even if I just stop shaving when the playoffs start. I couldn't imagine something like an additional month or more before the playoffs. Wow.

Hockey playoff beards used to be fun and kind of cool about 20 or so years ago.
Now they're just kind of stupid.

Even weirder then- I am pissed off because my team didn't make the playoffs, and now I can't grow a playoff beard. I was planning on going with a goatee again (been shaving clean for a few months), and a playoff beard would have been a nice start.

started growing mine when the sharks lost to the kings

I make my biatch stop with the brazilians and such and grow its 70's style. But she's 12 so it don't matter much.
